Jordan Brand’s lineup of Air Jordan 5 releases this year is expected to continue into the fall season officially on September 7, 2024.

For the first moment of the rumor, powerhouse sneaker leaker @zSneakerheadz shared on Instagram that a new Air Jordan 5 colorway dubbed “El Grito” will hit retail in September.

Finally, we can expect two colorways to be released. One combines Sail, Coconut Milk, Pink Green, and Dark Pony. The other features are Diffused Taupe, Dark Pony, Sail, and Apple Green. Both Air Jordan 5 editions showcase unique design elements that honor El Grito. A standout detail includes laser-cut leather and debossing inspired by ornamental Mexican architecture. Thanks to @kick.avenue on Instagram, we now have an early look at the Mexico-themed “El Grito” Air Jordan 5.

As the info suggests, the style is inspired by the traditional “El Grito” Mexican ceremony that takes place every September in Mexico City to celebrate the start of Mexican Independence Day. Derived from the historic “El Grito de Dolores” by Father Miguel Hidalgo’s historic call to action on September 16, 1810, this release commemorates Mexico’s fight for freedom! They also express pride in Mexican diversity through mysticism, culture, and traditions.

It’s Jordan Brand’s way of lacing up history and pride in every step.

Mark your calendars! These Air Jordan 5s are expected to hit select Jordan Brand retailers, online platforms, and Nike.com on September 7, 2024. They’ll be available in men’s sizes, with a price tag of $225 USD.

Everyone probably know me as Mr. Unloved 1s. That name came from me posting AJ1 mids a lot and they were mostly a bunch of pairs people either didn’t like, hated, or were purely just unloved.

I love sneakers and the history around them. In this space, I will go back and forth with my journey to notoriety and my very focused thoughts as relates to sneakers and culture. This is my time to talk my shit freely and in long form. So I hope you all are ready and thank you for your time and for joining this journey.
